June 8, 1985: Yankees (29-23) at Brewers (24-28)

Third baseman Mike Pagliarulo lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and had 2 RBI at COUNTY STADIUM as the New York Yankees beat the Milwaukee Brewers by the count of 3 to 2.

New York tallied 2 runs in the 7th inning. The biggest moment was provided by Pagliarulo who silenced the crowd when he smashed a two-run homer. Milwaukee threatened in the 9th but New York was able to put down the rally.

The victory was credited to Ed Whitson(6-4) who went 6 innings, allowing 2 runs. Dave Righetti recorded his 10th save. Ray Burris(5-4) suffered the loss. He allowed 3 runs and 10 hits in 8 innings.

'You have to give Milwaukee credit, they fought us tough to the end' Billy Martin said. 'It could have gone either way, but I'm glad we pulled out the victory.'
