June 15, 1985: A's (23-37) at Indians (26-36)

40,518 fans were treated to a fine game at MUNICIPAL STADIUM as only one run separated the combatants at game's end. The Cleveland Indians won by the slimmest of margins, 10 to 9. 

Cleveland scored the decisive runs in a big 8th inning scoring 3 runs utilizing 3 base hits. Jerry Willard led off and he doubled. Brett Butler came next and he drew a walk. Julio Franco then stroked a single. Two outs later Joe Carter came to the plate and slapped a base-hit. Oakland tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th. 

Bryan Clark(1-0) was the winner allowing no runs in 2 innings. Keith Atherton(2-1) took the loss in relief. 'It was a tough one to lose' said Jackie Moore 'We'll get them next time out.'
