In a close game it was the Kansas City Royals 5, the Seattle Mariners 3 at The Kingdome. 

Kansas City tallied 3 runs in the 6th inning. The highlight belonged to George Brett who silenced KINGDOME as he smacked a three-run homer. Kansas City managed 7 hits in their victory. T

he winning pitcher was Danny Jackson(5-4) who allowed 2 runs in 8 innings. Jackson got help from Dan Quisenberry who earned his 16th save. Mark Langston(4-7) absorbed the loss. He allowed just 3 hits and 1 walk in 7 innings. 

'I just wanted to give my team a chance to win.' said Jackson, 'I got burned on a couple of pitches. But we won the game, and that's all that matters.'
