June 15, 1985: White Sox (25-33) at Angels 26-34)

Carlton Fisk slammed a homerun and had 3 RBI as the Chicago White Sox defeated the California Angels 8 to 6 at ANAHEIM STADIUM.

Fisk had a big day with his bat. He lifted one out of the park for a two run home run in the 1st inning, doubled in the 6th inning and banged out a single which brought home a run in the 7th inning. Bob James was great in relief and recorded his 11th save.

The victory was credited to Floyd Bannister(4-8) who went 6 innings, allowing 4 runs. Jim Slaton(3-9) suffered the loss. Chicago knocked him around a bit, as he gave up 8 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings.

Tony LaRussa was just happy to get a win, 'We've had such a bad streak of games -- boy, it's great to get the monkey off our back. Now maybe we can relax a little and play the kind of baseball of which we are capable.'
