June 19, 1985: Cubs (36-26) at Mets (39-24)

39,487 fans were treated to a fine game at SHEA STADIUM as only one run separated the combatants at game's end. The Chicago Cubs won by the slimmest of margins, 4 to 3. 

The deciding run was scored by Chicago in the 8th. After two outs Davey Lopes drew a walk. Leon Durham came next and he drew a walk. Ron Cey then laced a single. New York had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short. 

Rick Sutcliffe(8-4) picked up the victory, allowing 3 runs in 8 innings. Lee Smith recorded his 18th save. Ron Darling(6-7) was tagged with the loss. He allowed 6 hits and 3 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings.
