June 20, 1985: Astros (31-33) at Braves (21-42)

Alan Ashby blasted 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI at FULTON CTY STADIUM as the Houston Astros beat the reeling Atlanta Braves 11 to 9. 

Ashby had a big day against Atlanta. He rifled a three-run blast in the 1st inning and popped a two-run clout over the fence in the 6th inning. Houston totaled 12 hits on the night. 

The victory went to Jeff Heathcock(1-3) who went 5 and 2/3 innings, allowing 1 run. Dave Smith preserved the game for Heathcock, recording his his 12th save. Len Barker(4-6) was hit with the loss in relief. He allowed Houston 3 runs in 2 innings of work. 

The winning ways continue for Houston. They now have a record of 8-2 in recent days. Not able to get much going in recent weeks, Atlanta has lost 11 in a row and now has an overall record of 21-42, worst in the division.
