June 20, 1985: Twins (28-36) at Royals (40-25)

Kent Hrbek had 3 base hits and Bert Blyleven blanked Kansas City in a very well-pitched complete game as the Minnesota Twins defeated the Kansas City Royals in 10 innings by a score of 2 to 0 at ROYALS STADIUM.

Neither team managed to score in the first nine innings. Minnesota was victorious in the 10th inning. Hrbek opened up the inning nicely when he tripled. After an out was recorded, Gary Gaetti came up and he banged out a single. Roy Smalley then drew a walk. Tim Teufel was up next and he doubled. After another out, Mark Salas came to the plate and drew a walk to load the bases. Minnesota banged out 9 hits on the night.

For Blyleven(8-3) it was his 2nd shutout this year. Danny Jackson(5-5) was charged with the loss. 'Thankfully we got ourselves a win', Blyleven said. 'It's great to be back on the winning side of things.'
