June 22, 1985: Yankees (34-31) at Tigers (40-25)

Catcher Lance Parrish slammed a homerun and had 4 RBI at TIGER STADIUM where the Detroit Tigers beat the New York Yankees 7 to 2. 

The Detroit fans enjoyed the offense provided by Parrish. He laced a base-knock which brought home a run in the 3rd inning, doubled in the 5th inning and blasted a two-run home run in the 7th inning. Detroit totaled 11 hits on the night. 

Frank Tanana(8-2) allowed 2 runs in 8 innings, and picked up the victory. Ed Whitson(6-7) suffered the loss. He pitched 6 and 1/3 innings and surrendered 9 hits and 1 walk.
