Rick Mahler pitched a complete game shutout as the Atlanta Braves man-handled the Cincinnati Reds at Crosley Field. The final score was 13 to 0. 

Mahler(6-8) pitched a solid game. He allowed just 5 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings reducing his ERA from 3.83 to 3.53. Atlanta had a total of 14 hits for the game.  The Braves snapped a 14 game losing streak.

The loss was charged to Ron Robinson(3-5). He was unable to control the Atlanta offense and allowed 9 hits and 3 walks in 3 innings.
