June 25, 1985: Braves (22-46) at Astros (32-37)

Nolan Ryan pitched a 3 hit shutout and left fielder Jose Cruz had 2 base hits and 2 RBI at Colt Stadium as the Houston Astros beat the Atlanta Braves by the count of 5 to 0. 

Ryan(9-7) came through with a virtuoso performance against the Atlanta hitters. He didn't allow much, just 3 hits and 3 walks in 9 innings. Ryan struck-out 10 Atlanta batters seeing his ERA drop from 3.38 to 3.17. Houston banged out 8 hits on the night. 

The loss was charged to Steve Bedrosian(2-11). He gave up 3 runs and 4 hits in 6 innings. Eddie Haas was upset after the game. "I don't like to complain but did you see that umpires strike zone?", he said. "Maybe they ought to start calling the strike zone the way it's printed in the rule book."
