June 25, 1985: Dodgers (41-28) at Padres (44-27)

Tony Gwynn launched 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI at JACK MURPHY STADIUM as the San Diego Padres beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 4 to 3. 

Gwynn enjoyed a big evening at the plate. He bombed a two-run dinger in the 1st inning, lined a base-hit in the 2nd inning and delivered a solo blast in the 4th inning. Los Angeles threatened in the 9th but San Diego was able to put down the rally. 

Lamarr Hoyt(8-6) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 8 innings. Goose Gossage gained credit for his 18th save. Fernando Valenzuela(7-5) took the loss.
