In a close game it was the Minnesota Twins 8, the Kansas City Royals 6 at METRODOME. 

Pete Filson(2-3) pitched well in relief and was credited with the victory. He went 1 and 2/3 innings surrendering no hits and 1 walk. Minnesota had 10 hits for the night. 

Ron Davis preserved the game for Filson, recording his his 11th save. The loss was charged to Dan Quisenberry(0-3) in relief. He gave up 5 runs in 1 inning and saw his ERA jump from 2.32 to 3.30.
