June 28, 1985: Brewers (30-40) at Yankees (37-33)

In an entertaining game at YANKEE STADIUM the final score was the New York Yankees 6, the Milwaukee Brewers 3.

Don Mattingly made sure the New York fans enjoyed themselves. He ripped a single resulting in a run in the 1st inning, launched a Grand Slam homerun in the 2nd inning and stroked a base-hit in the 7th inning. Dave Righetti was perfect in relief and gained credit for his 15th save.

The victory went to Joe Cowley(5-7) who went 6 innings, allowing 2 runs. Ray Burris(6-7) suffered the loss. He was not very effective, surrendering 6 runs in 5 innings.
