June 29, 1985: Angels (32-40) at Royals (44-29)

Bret Saberhagen blanked California allowing just 3 hits and Frank White slammed a homerun and had 2 RBI as the Kansas City Royals defeated the California Angels by the score of 2 to 0 at ROYALS STADIUM.

Saberhagen(11-3) was simply too much for the California batters. He allowed just 3 hits and no walks in 9 innings. California was set down quietly in the 9th.

Kirk McCaskill(7-8) was charged with the loss.Gene Mauch lamented, "Saberhagen was really aggressive tonight. He kept coming after our hitters. Heck, why not. he kept sitting our guys down one after another - like so many bowling pins!"
