Ron Darling threw a complete game shutout as the New York Mets defeated the St. Louis Cardinals by the score of 8 to 0 at BUSCH STADIUM. 

Darling(8-7) contributed a very nicely pitched game. He gave up just 4 hits and 5 walks in 9 innings. New York finished with 12 hits in the victory. 

Danny Cox(4-5) was the losing pitcher. He allowed New York 8 runs in 5 and 2/3 innings of work. New York extended their winning streak to 6 games.
