19,252 fans watched an exciting game at OAKLAND COLISEUM. The Toronto Blue Jays topped the Oakland Athletics by the slimmest of margins, 4 to 3. 

Doyle Alexander(11-4) struggled on the mound. He surrendered 7 hits and 7 walks in 6 innings. Oakland threatened in the 9th but Toronto was able to put down the rally. 

Tom Henke recorded the save, his 16th. Chris Codiroli(4-10) absorbed the loss. He allowed 9 hits and 1 walk in 8 innings. 'I had a little blister on my index finger before the game, but I thought it was nothing.' Alexander said. 'I was lucky I got a win because I couldn't put the ball where I wanted it.'
