Bob Boone had 4 hits at FENWAY PARK where the California Angels beat the Boston Red Sox by the score of 3 to 2. 

Kirk McCaskill(10-8) had a solid outing for California. He allowed 8 hits and 2 walks in 8 innings and surrendered 2 homeruns. Boston made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across. 

Donnie Moore got the save, his 18th. The loss was charged to Al Nipper(5-7). He allowed 9 hits and 7 walks in 7 and 1/3 innings.
