July 23, 1985: Cardinals (54-38) at Giants (39-55)

In a close game it was the San Francisco Giants 5, the St. Louis Cardinals 3 in 10 innings at CANDLESTICK PARK. 

Both teams had scored 3 runs after nine full innings. San Francisco won the hard fought contest in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Chris Brown began the rally when he doubled. Bob Brenly next to the plate and he blasted a two-run home run giving San Francisco the win much to the delight of the home town crowd. San Francisco totaled 10 hits on the afternoon. 

The win was credited to Scott Garrelts(7-3) who went 1 inning allowing no runs. Ricky Horton(4-2) was the loser in relief. He surrendered 2 hits and no walks in 1/3 of an inning.
