July 23, 1985: Pirates (38-54) at Dodgers (58-36)

In a good matchup it was the Pittsburgh Pirates 5, the Los Angeles Dodgers 2 at DODGER STADIUM. 

Pittsburgh scored 3 runs in the top of the 7th inning when they came up with 3 base hits. After an out was recorded, Tony Pena started the rally when he ripped a single. Denny Gonzalez followed next and he lined a single. Sixto Lezcano then rifled a three-run blast. John Candelaria(1-0) got relief help from Cecilio Guante who was excellent in relief and gained credit for his 16th save. 

Rick Honeycutt(7-2) took the loss. He pitched 6 and 1/3 innings and surrendered 8 hits and no walks.
