July 26, 1985: Cardinals (56-39) at Padres (55-43)

Eric Show pitched a 3 hit shutout as the San Diego Padres topped the St. Louis Cardinals by a score of 1 to 0 at JACK MURPHY STADIUM.

Show(12-8) was in control of the game from the outset. He didn't give up much, just 3 hits and 8 walks in 9 innings. St. Louis threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.

John Tudor(12-5) was given the loss. He pitched 7 innings giving up only 3 hits and 1 walk. 'Some losses are harder to take than others' Whitey Herzog lamented after the game. 'This was one of them.'
