July 26, 1985: Yankees (54-40) at Rangers (47-49)

Don Mattingly had 4 hits and 2 RBI as the New York Yankees topped the Texas Rangers by a score of 4 to 3 at ARLINGTON STADIUM. 

New York took the lead for keeps in the top of the 3rd inning plating an isolated run on 3 hits. Texas made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across. 

Rich Bordi(5-0) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 8 innings. Dave Righetti was credited with his 20th save. Charlie Hough(9-9) was tagged with the loss. He was hit hard and gave up 10 hits and 8 walks in 7 and 1/3 innings.
