July 26, 1985: Pirates (39-56) at Giants (41-56)

Jose Uribe had 2 base hits and Jim Gott went 9 solid innings as the San Francisco Giants defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates by the score of 5 to 1 at CANDLESTICK PARK.

San Francisco did all of it's offensive work in the 3rd inning scoring 5 runners on 2 hits. That was all the runs Gott(8-6) needed. Neither team managed to score after the 3rd inning.

Jose Deleon(8-11) was given the loss. He was the victim of a defensive lapse and did not allow an earned run in the game.

'He was moving it around and spotting it very well.' Chuck Tanner said. Gott pitched a great game. He deserves all the credit.'
