August 3, 1985: Mariners (51-53) at A's (41-63)

Bruce Bochte lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and had 2 RBI as the Oakland Athletics defeated the Seattle Mariners by a score of 7 to 5 at OAKLAND COLISEUM. 

Oakland scored the decisive runs in a big bottom of the 8th inning scoring 2 runs on 2 hits. After an out was recorded, Dwayne Murphy started the rally when he reached on an error. One out later, Mike Davis came to bat and hit a single. Mike Heath then doubled driving home two runs. Oakland ended up with 8 hits for the game while Seattle had 4. 

The victory was credited to Steve McCatty(3-6) who went 3 and 1/3 innings, allowing 1 run. Jay Howell earned his 18th save. Matt Young(11-8) ended up with the loss. 

With the win Oakland now has a record of 41-63. With the loss Seattle now has a record of 51-53.
