August 3, 1985: Red Sox (65-39) at Royals (58-45)

What an evening for the Boston Red Sox! They shellacked the Kansas City Royals pitching for 11 runs while Roger Clemens(14-5), with relief help from Bruce Kison, surrendered 3 runs to Kansas City. 

Steve Lyons had a big day against Kansas City. He blasted a solo shot in the 2nd inning, slapped a base-hit bringing home two baserunners in the 5th inning and stroked a single which plated a run in the 8th inning. Boston had 17 hits for the game and Kansas City had 4. 

Bret Saberhagen(12-7) was tagged with the loss. He got hit hard, allowing 8 hits and 2 walks in 5 innings.
