Mario Soto took a no-hitter into the 6th inning as the Cincinnati Reds beat the Houston Astros by a score of 2 to 0. 

Soto(16-7) was tremendous on the mound for Cincinnati. He allowed only 2 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings. The right-handed Soto had his no-hit bid broken up by Kevin Bass who singled with two outs in the 6th inning. Cincinnati had a total of 9 hits for the game. 

Bob Knepper(13-9) was tagged with the loss. He allowed 9 hits and 2 walks in 8 innings.
