August 5, 1985: Twins (44-61) at A's (41-65)

Left fielder Mickey Hatcher had 3 base hits as the Minnesota Twins defeated the Oakland Athletics in 11 innings by the score of 4 to 3 at OAKLAND COLISEUM. 

Both teams were tied at 3 runs apiece after nine innings. Minnesota won the game in the 11th inning. Tim Teufel drew a walk. Greg Gagne stepped up to the plate and he stroked a single. Tim Laudner then hit a deep fly scoring the run. Minnesota had 11 hits for the night. 

Ken Schrom(8-2) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 and 1/3 innings and allowing no runs. Schrom got relief help from Ron Davis who gained credit for his 15th save. Jay Howell(1-4) was the loser in relief. He pitched 2 and 2/3 innings giving up 2 hits and 1 walk. 

Minnesota now has a record of 44-61. With this loss, Oakland has a 5-5 record of late, 41-65, worst in the division overall.
