August 7, 1985: Twins (45-62) at A's (42-66)

Third baseman Carney Lansford rocketed 2 homeruns and scored 3 times at OAKLAND COLISEUM where the Oakland Athletics beat the Minnesota Twins in 12 innings by the score of 6 to 5. 

The score was tied at 5 after nine. Oakland won the hard fought contest in the 12th inning. Lansford cracked a solo homerun resulting in an exciting win for Oakland and a raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans. Minnesota had 15 hits in the game while Oakland had 10, but Oakland had the more timely hits. 

The win was credited to Keith Atherton(3-2) who went 2 innings allowing no runs. Frank Eufemia(1-2) was given the loss in relief. He allowed 1 hit and no walks without retiring a batter.
