August 8, 1985: Angels (49-59) at Twins (46-62)

Mike Stenhouse cracked 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Minnesota Twins defeated the California Angels by the score of 7 to 5 at METRODOME.

The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance provided by Stenhouse. He clubbed a two-run home run in the 4th inning and blasted a solo shot in the 6th inning. Minnesota banged out 12 hits on the night.

The victory went to Frank Viola(9-15) who went 7 innings, allowing 5 runs. Viola got help from Ron Davis who was credited with his 16th save. Ron Romanick(7-14) was tagged with the loss. He was not very effective, surrendering 6 runs in 5 and 2/3 innings.

'I struggled a bit out there tonight,' Viola said, 'but I toughed it out and we got the win.'
