August 8, 1985: Reds (59-49) at Dodgers (64-45)

Second baseman Ron Oester had 3 base hits as the Cincinnati Reds defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers in 10 innings by a score of 3 to 2 at DODGER STADIUM. 

Both teams were tied at 2 runs apiece after nine innings. Cincinnati came out the victor in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Oester doubled. Nick Esasky came to the plate and laced a one-base hit scoring the run. Esasky took second on the throw. The game was a scoreless duel until the 8th inning. 

The winning pitcher was Joe Price(4-2) who allowed no runs in 1 inning. Price got help from John Franco who was credited with his 24th save. Ken Howell(2-3) was the losing pitcher in relief.
