August 8, 1985: Red Sox (68-40) at White Sox (53-53)

Jim Rice homered and had 2 RBI as the Boston Red Sox defeated the Chicago White Sox 6 to 3 at COMISKEY PARK. 

Boston took the lead off Joel Davis in the first inning when they tallied 2 runs on 2 hits. The critical plate appearance was by Rice who deflated the crowd as he lifted one out of the park for a two run home run. For the game Boston out-hit Chicago 11 to 8. 

The win was credited to Mike Trujillo(4-0) who went 6 and 1/3 innings allowing 2 runs. Trujillo got help from Bruce Kison who earned his 1st save. The losing pitcher was Davis(2-5).
