August 10, 1985: Cardinals (65-44) at Phillies (47-62)

Catcher Ozzie Virgil blasted 2 homeruns as the Philadelphia Phillies beat the St. Louis Cardinals by a score of 6 to 4. 

St. Louis was unable to recover after Philadelphia went ahead in the bottom of the 5th inning scoring a single run on 2 base hits. Von Hayes tripled. Mike Schmidt next to the plate and he ripped a one-base hit scoring the run. Kent Tekulve, after tossing a perfect ninth, was credited with his 23rd save. 

The winning pitcher was Charles Hudson(4-10) who allowed 4 runs in 8 innings. Bob Forsch(11-7) suffered the loss. He was hit hard and gave up 10 hits and 2 walks in 6 innings.
