Pete O'Brien hit a homerun and had 2 RBI as the Texas Rangers defeated the Baltimore Orioles by the score of 7 to 1 at ARLINGTON STADIUM. 

Texas went ahead for good in the bottom of the 2nd inning scoring one runner on 3 hits. Baltimore was out-hit by Texas, 12 hits to 5. 

The win was credited to Dave Schmidt(6-4) who went 8 innings allowing 1 run. Storm Davis(12-7) was the losing pitcher. He pitched 7 innings giving up 9 hits and 3 walks. 

'Wow. That's about all I can think to say.' said Bobby Valentine following the victory. 'If ever a team needed a win, it was us.'
