August 10, 1985: Tigers (64-46) at Indians (40-73)

Left fielder Joe Carter rocketed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Cleveland Indians defeated the Detroit Tigers in 10 innings by a score of 6 to 5 at MUNICIPAL STADIUM. 

The score was tied at 4 after nine. Cleveland won the game in the 10th inning. After two outs Pat Tabler was the sparkplug when he banged out a single. Carter followed next and he blasted a two-run home run resulting in an exciting win for Cleveland and a wild post-game celebration by the home town fans. This was a game of many highs and lows for the home town fans, as the lead kept changing - 5 times in all. 

The victory went to Tom Waddell(4-6) who went 2 innings, allowing 1 run. The losing pitcher was Willie Hernandez(1-3) in relief. He surrendered 2 runs and 5 hits in 2 and 2/3 innings.
