August 9, 1985: Pirates (44-64) at Expos (51-59)

In a close game it was the Pittsburgh Pirates 4, the Montreal Expos 2 at OLYMPIC STADIUM.

Montreal surrendered all of the runs Pittsburgh needed in the 8th inning when they scored 4 runs on 4 hits. The key at-bat was by R.J. Reynolds who deflated the crowd as he blasted a Grand Slam homerun. The teams had been locked in a scoreless duel until the 7th inning.

The victory went to Al Holland(2-2) who went 1 and 1/3 innings, allowing no runs. Cecilio Guante got the save, his 20th. The loss was charged to Bill Laskey(3-5). He gave up 8 hits and 2 walks in 7 and 1/3 innings.
