August 13, 1985: Reds (61-52) at Padres (62-53)

Eddie Milner homered and Tom Browning came through with a solid 9 innings at JACK MURPHY STADIUM as the Cincinnati Reds beat the San Diego Padres 3 to 0.

Cincinnati took the lead off Lamarr Hoyt in the first inning scoring a single run. That early scoring held up. Cincinnati had only 4 hits for the game.

Browning(11-10) went the distance for the shutout. Hoyt(11-12) was charged with the loss. He gave up only 4 hits and 1 walk in 7 innings.

'Browning took our guys to school' Dick Williams said. 'Too bad he doesn't pitch for us - it would make my job a whole lot easier!'
