August 14, 1985: Pirates (48-65) at Cardinals (67-47)

The Pittsburgh Pirates got by the St. Louis Cardinals in 12 innings at BUSCH STADIUM. The final score was 5 to 3. 

The game was deadlocked at 3 after nine full innings. Pittsburgh came out the victor in the 12th inning. Marvell Wynne started the inning off right when he slapped a single. Sam Khalifa next to the plate and he drew a walk. Don Robinson then laid down a sacrifice bunt. One out later, R.J. Reynolds stepped in and he tripled scoring two teammates. Pittsburgh finished with 10 hits while St. Louis ended up with 5. 

Robinson(4-2) got the win allowing no runs in 3 innings. Robinson got help from Cecilio Guante who earned his 21st save. Bill Campbell(3-3) suffered the loss in relief.
