Jay Tibbs went 8 solid innings and Nick Esasky hit 2 doubles as the Cincinnati Reds bested the San Diego Padres 3 to 0 at JACK MURPHY STADIUM. 

Tibbs(9-13) escaped virtually unscathed against the San Diego hitters. He allowed just 2 hits and 1 walk in 8 innings. Cincinnati had 8 hits overall, while San Diego had 2.
