August 16, 1985: Expos (55-62) at Cardinals (68-48)

Right fielder Andy Van Slyke jacked one out of the ballyard and had 2 RBI as the St. Louis Cardinals outscored the Montreal Expos 8 to 4. 

St. Louis jumped out to the early lead in the first inning with 2 runs on 3 hits. Vince Coleman kicked off the action when he doubled. Willie McGee followed and he laced a single scoring a one-base hit run. After an out was recorded, Whitey Herzog then called for a steal which was successful. One out later, Van Slyke stepped in and he laced a base-hit scoring the final run of the inning. Montreal made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across. 

John Tudor(16-5) went 8 and 1/3 innings allowing 3 runs for the victory. Bill Gullickson(9-13) ended up with the loss. He gave up 5 runs and 9 hits in 5 innings.
