Carter was unconscious all evening. The Detroit fans hated to see him approaching the batter's box as he just kept delivering base hits! He smashed a solo-shot out of the park in the 2nd inning, cracked a solo homerun in the 4th inning and blasted a two-run home run in the 7th inning. Detroit could do no damage in the bottom of the 9th.
Waddell(5-6) finished the game allowing 3 runs in the victory. Dan Petry(13-9) was hit with the loss. He surrended 4 homeruns in his 6 and 2/3 innings.
'Some days it just all comes together, and this was one of them' Carter said. 'I've been seeing the ball pretty well lately.'
