August 23, 1985: Yankees (71-51) at Mariners (62-61)

The New York Yankees and the Seattle Mariners locked up in an exciting one-run game at The Kingdome. The final score was the New York Yankees 6, the Seattle Mariners 5. 

In the top of the 7th inning New York scored 2 runs when they came up with 3 base hits. It was enough scoring to earn the victory. New York had 12 hits for the night while Seattle had 8. 

The victory went to Brian Fisher(3-1) who went 2 and 1/3 innings, allowing no runs. Fisher got relief help from Dave Righetti who gained credit for his 30th save. Mike Moore(18-8) took the loss. He was unable to control the New York offense and allowed 12 hits and 2 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings.
