August 26, 1985: Cardinals (76-49) at Reds (67-58)

In a good matchup it was the Cincinnati Reds 5, the St. Louis Cardinals 3 at Crosley Field. 

Cincinnati promptly took the lead in their half of the first plating an isolated run. Eddie Milner drew a walk. Eric Davis was next to bat, but he was a strikeout victim. Tony Perez then doubled scoring the run. Cincinnati finished with 11 hits while St. Louis ended up with 3. 

Mario Soto(18-10) got the win allowing 3 runs in 8 and 2/3 innings. Soto was helped out by John Franco who recorded his 25th save. The losing pitcher was Danny Cox(7-10). He got hit pretty hard, allowing 10 hits and 3 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings.
