August 27, 1985: Cardinals (77-49) at Reds (67-59)

Bob Forsch shut down the Cincinnati batters on just 2 hits and center fielder Willie McGee slammed a homerun and had 3 RBI as the dominant St. Louis Cardinals beat the Cincinnati Reds by a score of 4 to 0.

Forsch(13-7) was indeed brilliant as he hand-cuffed the Cincinnati offense. He gave up just 2 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings. Neither team managed to score after the 3rd inning.

Tom Browning(12-12) was the loser. 'I thought it was my best performance in a long time,' said Forsch. 'I had good command early in the game. I had my control and composure and everything went well.'
