August 27, 1985: Yankees (72-54) at A's (54-73)

Don Sutton went the distance as the Oakland Athletics defeated the New York Yankees by the score of 2 to 1 at OAKLAND COLISEUM.

Oakland had 1 run cross the plate in the 3rd inning. That early run support was all that Sutton(8-14) required. After the 3rd inning, neither team was able to score.

Joe Cowley(9-9) was tagged with the loss. With the win, Oakland continued their winning ways; their streak now stands at 6 games and counting.
