September 7, 1985: Reds (72-64) at Cubs (68-68)

It was a laugher out at WRIGLEY FIELD. The Cincinnati Reds squad ripped Chicago pitching for a total of 15 runs. Tom Browning(13-13), with relief help from John Franco, surrendered 3 runs to Chicago. 

Eric Davis enjoyed a big day at the plate. He doubled which brought home a run in the 1st inning, smashed a two-run homer in the 2nd inning and laced a base-hit which scored a run in the 7th inning. Cincinnati bats were hot in the 1st inning which saw them score 3 runs on 3 hits, the 2nd inning when they had 3 runs on 3 hits and the 4th inning scoring 3 runs. Offensively, Cincinnati was a juggernaut. They scored in 6 separate innings. 

Scott Sanderson(11-9) took the loss. He allowed 3 homeruns in 3 innings of work. With the win Cincinnati now has a record of 72-64. With the loss, Chicago has a record of 5-5 lately, 68-68 overall.
