Dave Schmidt(8-5) and Britt Burns(10-16) treated the Texas fans to a fine pitching duel at ARLINGTON STADIUM. The Texas Rangers eventually emerged as victors over the Chicago White Sox by the score of 3 to 1.
Schmidt delivered a fine performance for Texas. He allowed 8 hits and 1 walk in 7 and 1/3 innings. The teams had been locked in a scoreless duel until the 6th inning.
Schmidt got relief help from Greg Harris who gained credit for his 30th save.
