September 21, 1985: Yankees (83-65) at Orioles (73-75)

Joe Cowley had a complete game and Ken Griffey had 3 base hits and 5 RBI at MEMORIAL STADIUM as the New York Yankees beat the Baltimore Orioles by the count of 8 to 2.

Baltimore never recovered after New York took the lead in the top of the 3rd inning scoring a single run. That early scoring held up. New York kept the pressure on throughout the contest as they scored in 6 different innings.

Cowley(11-11), allowing 2 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Scott McGregor(12-9) was the loser. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 9 hits and 3 walks in 5 innings.
