Lapoint(8-17) was very good in the win. He gave up just 7 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings dropping his ERA from 4.56 to 4.36. Los Angeles threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.
Fernando Valenzuela(16-10) was the loser. He was stingy with the baserunners, allowing just 2 hits and 3 walks in 8 innings.
