In an entertaining game at ROYALS STADIUM the final score was the Kansas City Royals 11, the Minnesota Twins 8. 

Kansas City had the winning rally in the 8th inning scoring 4 runners on 4 hits. The highlight belonged to Hal McRae who came through for the home fans when he ripped a base-hit bringing in two baserunners. Offensively, Kansas City was a juggernaut. They scored in 6 separate innings. 

Joe Beckwith(10-5) allowed no runs in 1 inning, and picked up the victory. Dan Quisenberry earned his 31st save. Frank Eufemia(1-4) took the loss in relief. He gave up 4 runs in 1 inning and saw his ERA jump from 4.36 to 4.94.
