September 27, 1985: White Sox (78-75) at A's (66-88)

Harold Baines cracked a homer and had 2 RBI and Tom Seaver went 8 solid innings as the Chicago White Sox outscored the Oakland Athletics in 17 innings 4 to 2. 

The score was knotted at 2 after nine innings. Chicago won the game in the 17th inning. After two were out Ozzie Guillen jump-started the rally as he tripled. Baines followed next and he popped a two-run clout over the fence. The Oakland bats were silent in the bottom of the 17th. 

The winning pitcher was Dave Wehrmeister(4-1) who allowed no runs in 3 innings. Wehrmeister was helped out by Bob James who recorded his 34th save. The losing pitcher was Steve Ontiveros(3-4) in relief. He pitched 4 innings and surrendered 4 hits and no walks.
