George Brett rocketed 2 homeruns and had 8 RBI as the Kansas City Royals topped the slumping California Angels by a score of 11 to 2 at ROYALS STADIUM. 

Brett was a one-man wrecking crew. He clubbed a three-run home run in the 1st inning, bombed a two-run dinger in the 2nd inning and doubled plating three runs in the 5th inning. Kansas City had 13 hits overall, while California had 5. 

The victory went to Charlie Leibrandt(18-9) who went 8 innings, allowing 2 runs. Mike Witt(9-16) was hit with the loss. He was touched for 3 homeruns in his 2 innings of work.
